Act and React Like a Christian
Christian growth is not only about acting well when life is calm. It is also about responding with grace when we are hurt, insulted or provoked. Ivan Pavlov’s experiments showed that people can develop conditioned reactions. Some are harmless, while others can be destructive. In the same way, many of our responses are shaped by habit, pain and past experiences. Jesus calls believers to a different standard: “You have heard that it was said… But I say to you.” Rather than returning wrong for wrong, He teaches us to respond with mercy and self-control. This kind of change comes through the Holy Spirit, who continually makes us more like Christ.
