Pray With Faith Rooted in God’s Word

Today’s devotional encourages believers to pray with faith rooted in Scripture. Hebrews 11:6 teaches that those who come to God must believe in Him and trust that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Prayer becomes stronger when it is guided by knowledge of God’s promises. Whether seeking health, provision, success, long life or blessings for one’s family, believers are encouraged to understand what Scripture says and pray with confidence. Jesus often declared, “It is written,” showing the importance of relying on God’s word. Saturate your mind with Scripture, stand on its promises and approach prayer without doubt. Prayer: Father, fill me with the light of Your word and strengthen me to pray effectively in Jesus’ name. Further reading: 1 Timothy 4:15. Bible reading: Psalms 119:89–176 and Romans 7.

I agree; praying from God's Word keeps faith central and helps prevent fear from setting the tone.

Faith matters, but people should be careful not to treat every promise in Scripture as a guarantee of a specific outcome.

A simple habit could be reading a passage first, noting what it says about God, then letting that shape your prayer.
