BUK Expels 171 Students Over Fake Admission Credentials
Bayero University Kano has expelled 171 students found guilty of submitting falsified admission documents. The Senate approved the measure at its 433rd meeting on March 4, 2026, following a report from the Committee on Entry Qualification Irregularities. The university said the offence violated Section 20.7, Category A (vii) of its General Examinations and Academic Regulations. The affected students came from various departments and levels. The action is part of ongoing efforts to uphold academic integrity, according to the school’s weekly bulletin. In a related decision, the Senate also expelled a Civil Engineering student for allegedly assaulting invigilators during an examination. The institution described the incident as a serious breach of its student discipline rules.
