Apply for AE-FUNAI 2026/2027 Post-UTME & Direct Entry Screening – Cut-Offs, Fees & Steps

Alex Ekwueme Federal University is now accepting applications for its 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening. Registration runs from May 25 to June 30, 2026. UTME candidates with a minimum score of 150 who selected AE-FUNAI as first choice can apply. Direct Entry applicants must also change their institution or course to AE-FUNAI on the JAMB portal before the deadline. Minimum screening scores vary by faculty. Most courses require at least 150, but competitive programmes demand higher marks: Law (230), Nursing Science (240) and Medicine and Surgery (250). Visit the university portal for the full list of cut-off marks and subject requirements. All applicants must upload their O’Level or Direct Entry results on JAMB CAPS ahead of the deadline. Science and medical programmes require O’Level results obtained in a single sitting. Any false or incomplete information will result in disqualification. A ₦2,000 processing fee is payable via the university portal. Candidates preferring physical registration can visit the campus CBT centre or the Centre for Educational Services in Abakaliki. Keep your phone number active for any screening updates.

Has anyone considered how the 150 UTME minimum will affect admission chances for less competitive courses?

It's interesting that AE-FUNAI sets a relatively low cut-off of 150, though resources might not stretch to handle so many applicants.

I'm not convinced aiming for AE-FUNAI is the best idea when so many federal universities offer stronger programs.

To avoid last-minute rush, start your AE-FUNAI screening application early and gather all required documents before May 25.
