Why Our Daily Family Bible Time Became Our Greatest Legacy

Why Our Daily Family Bible Time Became Our Greatest Legacy

My parents hired a Bible teacher for my siblings and me every year. It wasn’t because we were struggling with Scripture or training for ministry. They simply believed God’s Word mattered above all else. Alongside music and dance lessons, Bible study was the constant in our home. Yet the real impact came through simple daily routines. We read Scripture together, asked questions as a family, and prayed before and after each lesson. As I grew up, I saw that my parents weren’t just teaching us verses. They arranged our lives around what they valued most. Today, we follow that same example. Time in God’s Word still sits at the very center of our home.

It's interesting that parents invest equally in music, dance, and Bible study—balancing creative growth with spiritual formation.

Sure, Bible study was a constant, but isn't it possible that kids might have enjoyed more unstructured family time together?

Maybe setting short weekly themes or letting each child lead a lesson could make daily study more engaging and personal.
