Common Nigerian Foods That May Raise Cancer Risk

Research shows that certain everyday foods can increase cancer risk over time. While no single food causes cancer, frequent intake of some items may raise the odds. Processed meats such as sausages, bacon and packaged corned beef are tied to colorectal cancer when eaten often. Sugary drinks, refined carbs and white-flour products can cause weight gain, a known cancer risk factor. Heavily charred or deep-fried foods—like overcooked suya and fried snacks—may form harmful compounds under high heat. Regular alcohol intake is also linked to several cancer types. Cutting back on these items and adding more whole foods—vegetables, fruits, legumes and nuts—plus drinking plenty of water are practical steps to support long-term health.

I'm not convinced occasional bacon really shifts long-term cancer odds so dramatically.
