Yira Collins Sor Eager to Shine in Super Eagles Debut

Yira Collins Sor Eager to Shine in Super Eagles Debut

KRC Genk winger Yira Collins Sor is determined to make a notable impact after earning his first Super Eagles call-up for friendlies against Iran and Jordan. Sor admitted the invitation came as a big shock just months after watching Nigeria at the AFCON. “I was nervous every time they played,” he said. “To represent over 200 million Nigerians is a true honour I must not take for granted.” He believes his pace and link-up play will be valuable to coach Éric Chelle’s squad. Sor joins fellow newcomers Emmanuel Fernandez and Philip Otele in the team, and he hopes together they can achieve great things.

I agree, he should use his lightning pace and silky skills. Make those smart runs and neat passes pop again.

You're right – but flashy dribbles alone won't cut it; he needs off-ball movement and tactical awareness.

It's surprising how quickly he moved from AFCON spectator to national team pick, but matchday nerves could still hold him back.

I'm not convinced a first call-up guarantees impact; plenty of players struggle to adapt to international pace and pressure right away.

He should focus on staying calm and using his club form to guide him, adapting quickly to Nigeria's style and the coach's tactics.
