NYSC Osun’s 2nd Quarter Outreach Brings Free Healthcare to Awo Community

The NYSC Osun State Medical CDS group held its second quarter Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers in Awo Community, Egbedore LGA. Corps members offered free medical consultations, health screenings and prescribed medications to residents. The Alawo of Awo, Oba Abdulrazaq Taiwo Adegboye Abioye III, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, and the federal representative for Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo attended. Traditional rulers and community leaders also graced the event. The Assistant Director of Community Development Service explained that this quarterly programme aims to improve access to healthcare in underserved areas. A health education session covered hypertension—its risk factors and the importance of regular check-ups. Nurse Susan Olorunusi cautioned against self-medication, while Michael Olayiwola shared tips on diabetes prevention. Beneficiaries received blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, consultations and free medications.
