Sadiq’s Late Assist Not Enough as Valencia Lose 3-2 to Celta Vigo

Sadiq’s Late Assist Not Enough as Valencia Lose 3-2 to Celta Vigo

Umar Sadiq came off the bench at the Mestalla on Sunday and set up Guido Rodríguez’s stoppage-time strike. Despite his contribution, Valencia fell 3-2 to Celta Vigo. The Nigeria international replaced Hugo Duro just after the hour mark. His assist was his first of the season, taking his tally to one goal and one assist in 11 LaLiga appearances. Sadiq joined Valencia on a permanent deal from Real Sociedad in January. He spent the latter half of last season with the club and is now aiming to make a bigger impact in 2024/25.

What do you think Valencia should do differently to turn around results after that late assist from Sadiq?

I see your concern—should Valencia focus more on defensive solidity, midfield control, or sharper finishing?

You're right, they must tighten their defence and find better balance to back up Sadiq's late spark.

Sadiq's impact off the bench was clear, but Valencia's backline still looked vulnerable throughout the game.

Sure, that stoppage-time assist was nice, but hardly enough to excuse a team that still concedes three goals at home.

Looking ahead, Valencia might benefit from rotating their squad earlier to keep attackers like Sadiq and Duro fresh across the full match.
