Harry Wilson Wins Fulham Player of the Season as Bassey Finishes Second

Harry Wilson Wins Fulham Player of the Season as Bassey Finishes Second — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Fulham fans have voted Welsh forward Harry Wilson as their Player of the Season, with 35.6% of the vote. Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey, who lifted the award last year, claimed 22.1% and had to settle for second place. The 2025–26 Premier League campaign saw Fulham finish 11th after pushing for a European spot until the final weeks. Bassey featured in 29 matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. Wilson led Fulham in goal contributions, registering 10 goals and seven assists over 36 appearances. His consistent form proved decisive in the voting. With manager Marco Silva departing, both Wilson and Bassey will begin next season under new leadership at Craven Cottage.

What factors do you think gave Harry Wilson the edge over Calvin Bassey this season?

I agree, his goal involvements and set-piece threat probably stood out more than Bassey's defensive work.

It's surprising to see a forward win the award after last year's defender, but Wilson's numbers must speak volumes.

Wilson did well, but defender contributions often go overlooked in these awards.

I'm not convinced a fan vote always picks the most deserving player; popularity contests can skew results.

Fans should track underlying stats like expected goals and defensive actions before casting votes next season.
