Bomb Threat Forces Evacuation of United Flight at Denver Airport
On April 19, a United Airlines jet carrying about 200 passengers and seven crew members was ordered off the tarmac at Denver International Airport after a bomb threat. Everyone deplaned safely via airstairs and moved to the terminal. Airport authorities and United Airlines confirmed the aircraft and luggage were screened. Passengers were offered food and water at the gate while the plane underwent an explosives sweep. Denver’s bomb squad and K9 units found no threats. The flight finally departed for Washington at 11:33 p.m., over five hours past its scheduled time. This scare came just a day after another United flight was diverted over a similar warning.
