Mark van Bommel Set to Take Charge of Belgium Until 2028

Dutch great Mark van Bommel has agreed to become Belgium’s next head coach. The 48-year-old will replace Rudi Garcia after the Belgian side’s 2026 World Cup campaign. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, all parties have reached terms on a deal running until June 2028. The official announcement is expected once formalities are completed. Van Bommel steps into his first international role following successful spells at PSV Eindhoven, VfL Wolfsburg and Royal Antwerp, where he led the club to a historic league and cup double in 2022–23.
