Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has announced that Victor Attah International Airport is ready to begin international operations. After inspecting the upgraded facilities, he praised the contractor and the committee set up to fast-track the project. The governor revealed that the airport’s maiden international flight will depart for Accra’s Kotoka International Airport. He explained that investments in infrastructure, safety systems, and passenger handling have secured the airport’s international status. All regulatory requirements are in place, with security, customs, and immigration services fully operational. Governor Eno thanked the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development and all stakeholders for making the milestone possible. Officials expect the inaugural trip to boost tourism, enhance trade links, and strengthen ties between Nigeria and Ghana.
