Veteran Yoruba actor Chief Ganiu Nofiu, popularly known as Alapini Osha, has shared the heartbreaking story of losing his only son at age four while battling a debilitating illness. He revealed in a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV that he was sick for an entire year and struggled to sleep day and night. Alapini Osha explained that he never blamed his demanding film roles for his health decline, noting that illness can strike anyone. Tragically, three months into his battle, he lost his young child. He is not alone in suffering such a loss. In recent years, several Nigerian entertainers, including singer Shanko Rasheed, actor Francis Duru, comedian Aphrican Ace and skit maker Akika, have also endured the pain of losing young children to illness.

You could argue it's overstated, but I agree his personal loss probably brought more depth to his character choices.

I'm not convinced grief alone explains his year-long struggle; other factors might have played a role in his son's illness.

Perhaps viewers should consider donating to pediatric health initiatives in his son's name to honor his memory and support others.
