Lagos Probe Finds Vaccines Not to Blame for Twins’ Death

Lagos Probe Finds Vaccines Not to Blame for Twins’ Death

The Lagos State Government has cleared vaccines as the cause of twin infants’ death at a primary healthcare centre. Investigations, including toxicology tests and post-mortem exams, found no evidence linking the vaccines to the fatalities. Dr Ibrahim Mustafa of the Primary Health Care Board said several other children received doses from the same batch without any adverse outcomes. He noted that side effects are generally mild and temporary, such as fever or irritability. Mustafa emphasised that serious complications are extremely rare and highlighted the strict regulatory processes by NAFDAC to ensure vaccine safety. He urged parents to continue routine immunisation to protect children from preventable diseases. The clarification follows public concern after the twins’ father shared videos online alleging the children died shortly after vaccination. The government stressed transparency to maintain trust in immunisation programmes.

It's interesting that toxicology tests and postmortem exams found no link, yet some still question the official outcome.

I hear vaccines aren't to blame here, yet it feels premature to dismiss other potential clinic issues without deeper scrutiny.

Clinics should review safety protocols regularly and share clear reports so families stay informed and trust each vaccination process.
