Super Eagles Star Samuel Kalu Extends Botev Plovdiv Contract to 2029
Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu has agreed a new three-year deal with Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, keeping him at the Yellow and Blacks until 2029. The 28-year-old committed his future despite reported interest from fellow Bulgarian club Levski Sofia and several Swiss teams. Botev moved quickly to secure his signature on a long-term contract. Kalu arrived in Plovdiv last summer from Sky Bet Championship outfit Watford and made 26 appearances across all competitions. He scored two goals and impressed fans with his pace and creativity on the flank. Before moving to Bulgaria, Kalu featured for AS Trenčín, KAA Gent, Girondins Bordeaux and Watford. He has also played 17 times for the Super Eagles, finding the net twice for Nigeria.
