Manchester United Confirm Summer Exits for Sancho, Casemiro and Malacia

Manchester United Confirm Summer Exits for Sancho, Casemiro and Malacia — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Manchester United have announced the departures of Jadon Sancho, Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia in their end-of-season retained list. Sancho leaves on a free transfer after five years at Old Trafford, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in 83 appearances. Casemiro and Malacia also say farewell following the final home match of the season, with manager Michael Carrick paying tribute to their contributions. The club issued a statement thanking Sancho for his service despite his absence since the 2024 Community Shield. Several academy graduates, including Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey and Malachi Sharpe, will also depart when their contracts expire on June 30. Carrick now faces the challenge of rebuilding the midfield and strengthening the squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

With Sancho gone after five years and Casemiro and Malacia also exiting, how will United replace that experience on midfield and wing?

Are they sure relying on youth alone can fill that midfield and wing void?

It seems odd to let a player with Casemiro's midfield leadership leave without a clear replacement lined up.

I'm not convinced Sancho ever adapted properly here, so maybe it's time for him to move on.

United should target a versatile winger and defensive midfielder early in the transfer window to avoid another slow start.
