Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has announced his first EP, More to Life, arriving on April 9, 2026. Recording under his stage name 17, he teased the project with the lead single “TRACK 0 (FREESTYLE).” The eight-track EP fuses Afrowave and Afrobeats, drawing on his Nigerian heritage. It features appearances from Giddi, Teniola Time, 4AM, P17, SPKS and fellow footballer-turned-artist 24AM. Most notably, Fido of “Joy Is Coming” lends his vocals to one of the standout tracks. The EP artwork uses black-and-white imagery and childhood photos to reflect Iwobi’s journey and the “more to life” message. Since his music debut in 2024, he has balanced a growing catalogue with his Fulham and Super Eagles career. As the first active Premier League player to release music under his own name, Iwobi continues to build Project 17, showcasing his passion for creativity alongside football.

He's known as a football midfielder, not a musician, so his Afrobeats fusion might struggle to stand out in a crowded scene.

I'm not convinced that having Nigeria's 2025 Hitmaker Fido onboard automatically makes this EP worth streaming.

He should drop a behind-the-scenes freestyle clip or short teaser next week to keep fans hyped before the April release.
