Wike Dismisses Allegations that APC Is ‘Killing’ Opposition Parties

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has rejected claims that the All Progressives Congress is targeting opposition parties. He told journalists in Abuja that such accusations are unfounded. Wike compared the current situation to his own experience under former President Buhari’s administration. He said he faced harsher political pressure and legal battles while in the Peoples Democratic Party. He also addressed recent leadership disputes in the African Democratic Congress and INEC’s role in ongoing litigation. Wike argued that political competition naturally involves strategic moves by both ruling and opposition parties. According to him, opposition groups should expect the ruling party to seek legal advantages. He stressed that these dynamics are part of politics, not deliberate efforts to eliminate rivals.
