The New Birth: Living From Your New Life in Christ

The new birth is not a moral improvement of the old human life. It is the beginning of a new life in Christ. Through faith in Him, the believer becomes a new creation with a new spiritual origin. Galatians 2:20 teaches that the old identity has been crucified with Christ. The life now active in the believer is Christ’s life. This agrees with 2 Corinthians 5:17: old things have passed away, and all things have become new. Believers are called to live with an awareness of this divine life. Rather than seeing themselves as limited by their former nature, they can walk in righteousness, victory and the reality of Christ living in them. Prayer: Father, thank You for the new life I have received in Christ. Help me to live daily in the consciousness of Your nature in me, expressing righteousness and Your glory in all I do. Amen.

I agree the new birth is central, but calling the old life crucified should not make personal growth and daily choices seem unimportant.

A practical starting point is to return to Galatians 2:20 regularly and let faith shape everyday responses, not only church discussions.
