June 2026 Price Guide: Traveling from Lagos to Port Harcourt by Road or Air

Transport costs have shot up across Nigeria. If you haven’t travelled from Lagos to Port Harcourt recently, current fares will surprise you. By road, you can expect to pay: • Standard buses: ₦37,000–₦48,000 • Executive buses: ₦45,000–₦60,000 • Luxury coaches: ₦50,000–₦70,000 These figures exclude meals, bike or taxi connections, and extra luggage fees. Flight tickets now range from ₦170,000 to ₦320,000 depending on how early you book. Longer journeys, rising fuel costs, expensive vehicle maintenance and general inflation are all driving prices higher. Standard bus fares at ₦37,000–₦48,000 feel outrageous when I remember paying less than ₦20,000 just two years ago.

I'm not convinced these higher fares actually deliver better service quality on any of those routes.
