From Torah Shadows to Messiah Revealed: An Introduction to Matthew

This study introduces Sefer Mattityahu (the Gospel of Matthew) as a bridge from the Torah and the Prophets to the New Covenant Scriptures. It explores Yeshua HaMashiach as the promised Messiah, King and Redeemer foreshadowed through the Scriptures. Written mainly for a Jewish audience, Matthew repeatedly connects Yeshua’s life and ministry to earlier prophecies. The book presents Him as the promised Son of David, Immanuel, the ultimate Teacher, and the One who reveals the deeper purpose of YHVH’s Torah. Our study follows a two-day weekly rhythm. Day One covers the story, summary and chapter highlights. Day Two takes a deeper look at Messianic connections, practical application and the Old Covenant passages quoted in Matthew. The next study begins with Parashat Toldot, covering Matthew chapters 1 to 3:17. Read the assigned chapters first, trace the quoted Scriptures, and reflect on practical lessons for the week.
