Egypt captain Mahira Ali says the Cleopatras will not be intimidated when they face defending champions Nigeria in their final Group C match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday night. Egypt have lost to Zambia and Malawi, and are hoping to avoid a repeat of their previous WAFCON meeting with the Super Falcons, which ended in an 8-0 defeat in 1998. Ali acknowledged Nigeria’s strength but said her team are determined to give a spirited performance. The match kicks off at 9pm Nigerian time at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
