Hasselbaink Blames Delap’s Scoring Woes on Confidence Dip

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes Liam Delap’s prolonged goal drought at Chelsea comes down to a lack of confidence rather than ability. Since joining for £30m last summer, Delap has managed just one Premier League goal and two in 36 appearances. He hasn’t scored since early January and has been in and out of the side, often limited to brief cameos. Hasselbaink told talkSPORT that inconsistent game time has dented Delap’s self-belief.
