Eagles Land in Warsaw: Ndidi Leads 18-Man Squad Ahead of Poland Friendly
Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi and 17 teammates began their first training session in Warsaw as preparations ramp up for Wednesday’s friendly against Poland at Stadion PGE Narodowy. This will be only the second senior-level meeting between Nigeria and Poland, following a 1-0 victory in Wroclaw in March 2018. Both teams fell short in their 2026 World Cup playoff finals before regrouping for this warm-up match. The 18-man squad, featuring Maduka Okoye, Zaidu Sanusi, Moses Simon and newcomer Abdullahi Bewene, trained under light rain on Monday. Coach Eric Chelle emphasised the importance of a winning culture as the team aims to build momentum.
