Fire Erupts on Turkish Airlines Flight with 288 Passengers in Kathmandu

A Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Kathmandu caught fire after landing at Tribhuvan International Airport. A spark in the landing gear ignited the right rear tyre, sending smoke billowing across the runway. All 277 passengers and 11 crew jumped to safety down emergency slides. The runway was closed for nearly two hours as crews doused the blaze and towed the aircraft to the taxiway. Several incoming flights were suspended while authorities inspected the site.
