US Launches 'Project Freedom' to Safely Guide Ships Through Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. will begin guiding foreign vessels through the Strait of Hormuz from Monday. He called the operation Project Freedom and said it was launched at the request of neutral countries whose ships have been stranded. Many of these vessels are running low on food and supplies. Iran’s parliamentary security chief said any American action in the strait would breach the truce. US Central Command confirmed it will support merchant ships seeking to transit the waterway. CENTCOM’s commander said the mission is essential for regional security and the global economy.
