Niger Delta Advocates Urge Tinubu to Pardon Henry Okah
A coalition of Niger Delta youths under Advocates for Henry Okah, led by Nengi James OON, appealed to President Bola Tinubu in Abuja to grant clemency to incarcerated MEND leader Henry Okah. They noted Okah’s 15 years behind bars in South Africa for the 2010 Eagle Square bombing, his role in peacebuilding, and the hardship his family faces while comparing his case to former insurgents and Boko Haram members who have since been pardoned and reintegrated. Senior Comrade Edmund Ebiware added that Okah’s release would bolster peace in the Niger Delta and strengthen President Tinubu’s support base in the region.
