Atiku Blasts Tinubu, First Lady Over Oyo School Abductions

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of neglecting the plight of pupils and teachers abducted in Oyo State nearly three weeks ago. He says the federal government seems more focused on political celebrations than on organising their rescue. Atiku condemned the display of luxury gifts and campaign festivities while innocent children remain in kidnappers’ custody. He urged the First Lady to use her influence to keep the hostages’ ordeal in the national spotlight until they return safely. Warning that such political pageantry deepens public frustration, Atiku called on the government to deploy all available security and intelligence resources to secure the victims’ release and bring the perpetrators to justice.

I'm not convinced blaming Tinubu alone solves the security gap; state governments also share responsibility here.

A joint task force between federal and Oyo authorities could speed up rescue efforts and restore confidence among affected communities.
