Full Schedule Unveiled for 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships

Organisers have released the official timetable for the 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra. The meet runs from Tuesday, 12 May to Sunday, 17 May at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Action kicks off on day one with the men’s decathlon, heats in the men’s and women’s 100m, 400m and 400m hurdles, and closes with mixed 4x400m relay heats. Day two features the men’s and women’s 100m finals, women’s hammer throw and the mixed relay final. Midweek highlights include the women’s 400m, men’s discus, men’s 800m and women’s long jump finals, plus 4x100m relay heats. Day four sees the women’s 10,000m final and all 4x100m relay finals. On day five athletes tackle the 20km race walk, men’s triple jump final and 200m semi-finals. The championships conclude with 200m finals for both genders, men’s 5000m final and both 4x400m relay finals.
