Why Benin’s South-South APC Rally Drew Just 10% Capacity

Why Benin’s South-South APC Rally Drew Just 10% Capacity — 1 of 3
1 / 3

I just watched the City Boys rally in Benin, Edo State. Despite big names like Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest on stage, the stadium was only about 10% full. It felt like most attendees were there for free gifts or payment rather than genuine support for APC’s record. I doubt anyone turned up purely out of passion for the party’s achievements. It makes me wonder how a Village Boys rally would compare. I imagine a massive crowd driven by real hope for strong leadership, not by coercion or giveaways.

Why do you think the City Boys rally barely filled the stadium despite big names on stage?

True, even top stars no fit draw crowd if ground engagement no strong.

I get your point, but turnout could reflect outreach or timing issues more than just the performers involved.

It's striking that even high-profile figures like Obi Cubana couldn't draw a crowd, maybe the turnout was overhyped.

Not everyone who picks up a gift is insincere; genuine support and incentives can coexist at rallies.

If APC wants better turnout, they should engage grassroots leaders early and offer substantive policy discussions, not just freebies.
