AE-FUNAI Vice-Chancellor Promises Recognition and Better Future for Pioneer Staff
The Vice-Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, praised the institution’s pioneer staff for their sacrifices and dedication during a meeting on May 18, 2026. He highlighted their critical role in building the university’s foundation and assured them of rewards and improved prospects ahead. He also pledged priority for their children in admissions and employment opportunities under his administration. Dr. Joseph Chukwu, chairman of the Pioneer Staff Forum, congratulated Professor Nwachukwu on his appointment and reaffirmed the group’s support. He underscored how the pioneer staff overcame early challenges with limited resources to establish key academic and administrative structures. The forum appealed for greater inclusion of pioneer staff in university committees and announced plans to create an AE-FUNAI Pioneers and Archives Centre. The proposed centre would preserve the university’s history, provide conference and office space, and generate revenue. The visit ended with the presentation of gifts to the Vice-Chancellor.
