Maduka Okoye Cleared for Udinese’s Serie A Clash with Como

Maduka Okoye Cleared for Udinese’s Serie A Clash with Como — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Udinese head coach Kosta Runjaic has confirmed that goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is fully fit for the upcoming Serie A fixture against Como. Okoye suffered a thigh injury during international duty with Nigeria last week. Initial worries suggested a lengthy absence, but Runjaic dismissed those concerns following full squad training. Except for Zemura, Buksa and Zanoli, the entire squad is available for selection. Udinese boast a ten-match unbeaten home record against Como, who themselves arrive on a six-game unbeaten run.

Are we expecting Maduka Okoye to start against Como, or will the coach still manage his minutes carefully?

You're not convinced he'll start a full match—do you reckon the coach sees him fit enough for all 90?

He's cleared, so why overthink? I reckon he'll start and play solid minutes.

It's interesting that Runjaic ruled out any lingering issues, but we haven't seen how Okoye looked in training sessions yet.

I'm not sure it's wise to rush him back just because the coach says he's fit.

A phased return might help, maybe give him a few minutes in the second half before trusting him with the entire match.
