Edo Govt Demands Explanation from AAU VC Over Zero NELFUND Loan Beneficiaries
The Edo State Ministry of Education has issued a formal query to Professor Eunice Omonzejie, Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, over reports that no student accessed the NELFUND loan in the 2025/2026 academic session. The letter, dated June 24, 2026, references the ₦242 billion disbursed under the federal loan scheme. The ministry is concerned that not a single AAU student has benefited so far. It has requested detailed information on the challenges faced and measures taken by the university to resolve them. AAU is expected to respond by July 10, 2026. The feedback will inform a briefing for Governor Monday Okpebholo. The ministry emphasizes that the matter should be treated with urgency.
