Minimum Wage ₦70k vs ₦100k Tax Penalty: Why Are We Accepting This?

Minimum Wage ₦70k vs ₦100k Tax Penalty: Why Are We Accepting This?

I can’t believe we’re sharing tax-filing tutorials like it’s normal. We drill boreholes and buy fuel for generators because the government fails us. We pay for private security and send our kids to private schools. We’ve built solar systems because there’s no reliable power. Now there’s a March 31 deadline. Miss it, and ₦100,000 is debited from your account. And we’re supposed to smile? This is what’s destroying Nigeria: not just bad leaders, but citizens beaten down into defending their oppressors. The youth have let themselves down.

Have we considered how paying for boreholes or private security compares to the extra income we'd earn on a ₦100k minimum wage?

True! That extra 30k might cover private security, but borehole costs can eat up pay increases fast.

I see your point, but many families struggle to cover security or water setup costs, even with a wage bump.

Not sure tutorials on tax filing distract from the real issue of unstable power and schools and how we fund private services.

I dey think say pushing for ₦100k minimum wage might backfire if businesses cannot sustain payroll and then we lose more jobs.

Maybe we should pool resources for community solar projects and borehole maintenance to reduce individual costs while lobbying for higher wage standards.
