Rethinking Feasting at Nigerian Funerals
In my opinion, funerals should be solemn occasions. They are not meant for celebration or feasting. Yet many cultures now expect elaborate meals at burials. This tradition forces struggling families to provide big meals they can’t afford. Some even go around looking for funerals to get free food. I think we need to re-examine this practice. If someone can afford a large feast, that’s fine. But it should never be a rule for everyone. What do you think?
