Nine Suspected Bandits Arrested in Abule-Eko, Ijede-Ikorodu

On Sunday, June 7, residents of Abule-Eko and Igbopa in Ijede-Ikorodu detained nine men after discovering them living secretly in a self-contain apartment. They claim to be network marketers from Sudan and Chad. When their phones were examined, large transactions of ₦10 million, ₦5 million and ₦3 million were found. A photo in one suspect’s gallery showed him loading an AK-47 rifle. The group has been handed over to the police, but locals fear they may be released without charge. Community members are sharing updates to ensure the case is not dismissed as a false alarm.

It's odd that large ₦10 million transactions were on their phones despite no clear business records or verifiable client lists.

I'm not convinced they were just marketers—secrecy and sudden wealth suggest something more suspicious might be going on.

Local residents should document any odd mobile money activity and report suspicious transactions promptly to authorities for proper investigation.
