Ghana Football Association has confirmed former Real Madrid boss Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the senior men’s national team, the Black Stars. Queiroz replaces Otto Addo after recent friendly losses to Austria and Germany. The Portuguese tactician brings World Cup experience from stints with South Africa, Portugal and Iran. He will immediately begin preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Ghana’s first group match is set for June 17, 2026 against Panama in Toronto, followed by games against England and Croatia.

The GFA should focus on integrating Queiroz's strategies gradually and monitoring player feedback during friendlies before crucial qualifiers.
