Tella’s Assist Secures Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 Win at Cologne

Tella’s Assist Secures Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-1 Win at Cologne

Nathan Tella produced a quality assist as Bayer Leverkusen edged past Cologne 2-1 in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash. Patrick Schick opened the scoring from the penalty spot just before half-time, then Tella set up Schick again for the second goal early in the second half. Luca Waldschmidt pulled one back for Cologne late on, but Leverkusen held on to move into fifth place with 55 points from 31 games this season. Tella has now registered three assists in 16 league appearances.

Do you think Tella can keep setting up Schick so effectively now that teams will start to mark him tighter?

Is there evidence he's adjusted his runs before when opponents closed him down harder?

I dey sure say Tella get the skill and brains to beat tighter marking and still feed Schick those perfect assists.

It seems Leverkusen still rely heavily on Schick's finishing, and one assist doesn't prove Tella is a regular playmaker.

I'm not convinced one match proves Leverkusen can handle tougher opponents when Cologne offered minimal pressure.

Leverkusen should prioritise sharpening defensive patterns and counter-pressing if they want to maintain leads against stronger teams later.
