Milan Health Authorities Probe Suspected Ebola in Returned Uganda Aid Workers
Milan health officials are investigating two suspected Ebola cases in northern Italy. A man and a woman from Como recently returned from a three-month aid mission in Uganda. Both developed high fever, vomiting, diarrhoea and nausea. The man suffered intestinal issues while the woman showed neurological symptoms. The probe comes as an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda was declared a global health emergency by the WHO. Three virus strains are known to cause human outbreaks. Regional health bodies warn neighbouring African countries remain at risk. The WHO says global spread is still unlikely but continues close monitoring.
