Why I Believe America’s Actions Harm Global Sovereignty

I feel upset when I watch American politicians acting as if they run the world. Their arrogance and thirst for power often override basic morality and honour. Every day, I hear officials brag about military might or threaten sovereign nations. From unprovoked attacks on Iran to meddling in Venezuela, their behaviour shows they think America governs the globe. At home, they face mass shootings, poverty and racial injustice. Yet they ignore these crises and focus on imposing their will abroad. This hypocrisy fuels global resentment. Nigeria should be cautious in its ties with the US. We must protect our sovereignty and avoid alliances with a government that violates international law. Our problems are ours to solve.

Do you think America's global interventions stem more from security concerns or from a desire to project power at any cost?

I'd say projecting influence drives many actions, even when wrapped in security talk. Hard to see one without the other.

Definitely feels more like flexing muscle than genuine security concerns.

It's striking how often officials boast about military strength while overlooking what it does to diplomatic credibility and local stability abroad.

I get your point, but isn't it possible some threats are genuine and not just power plays?

Maybe we could support reforms in international law and encourage multilateral talks rather than unilateral threats and military warnings.
