My 16-Year Struggle in a One-Sided Marriage
I wish I had never married him. After 16 years together, I’ve never known a moment of true happiness. He shows no commitment and it feels like he’d rather please everyone else. He’s become increasingly distant and unfaithful. He rarely supports me or the children. When I was pregnant with twins, he gave just ₦100,000 for essentials even though he could afford more. We built our home together, yet he treats his extended family like royalty. He sponsors cousins and relatives but refuses to fully fund our kids’ school fees. I cover the balance to avoid embarrassment. Since we moved abroad, things have only worsened. He constantly calls friends back home instead of finding work. Now he threatens to throw our children out at 14 while older relatives stay under his roof. I regret this marriage, but shame and distance from my family keep me here.
