Prof. Emenike Challenges Anambra FA Cup Champions to Conquer President Federation Cup

Prof. Emenike Challenges Anambra FA Cup Champions to Conquer President Federation Cup

Chief Professor Polycarp Emenike, CEO of NEROS Pharmaceuticals, has urged the 2026 Anambra FA Cup winners to push on to the finals of the President Federation Cup. He made the call during the official draw at Maxilon Hotel Awka on April 4. Recalling FC Arugo’s run to the national final in 1999 and Obosi United’s memorable performance in Abuja and Owerri, Prof. Emenike said hard work, discipline and strong coordination can make the feat possible again. He noted that a deep run at the national level would bring greater visibility to his firm’s 19 years of sponsorship. The sponsor also expressed concern over the low number of registered teams, blaming high fees set by the NFF. He appealed to clubs to avoid walkouts or other unsporting actions and urged referees to be fair and consistent in enforcing the rules. The 2026 NEROS/ANSFA Anambra FA Cup begins on April 9, with the grand finale scheduled for April 26 at the NEROS Sports Complex in Nanka.

Are you more concerned about their team depth or the quality of opposition at that level?

Prof. Emenike referenced FC Arugo's past run, but his comments seem more motivational than analytical about actual tournament hurdles.

Encouragement alone won't secure the trophy; the team must address defensive lapses and consistency before dreaming of national glory.

A solid scouting network and targeted training camps could help Anambra champions adapt quickly to diverse playing styles at the Federation Cup.
