Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean Raise Hopes of New Fugees Music
Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean have raised hopes of new Fugees music after describing a major healing process within the group. The pair spoke ahead of a concert marking 30 years since their landmark 1996 album, The Score. Hill said future projects were possible, while Wyclef said the group was in an “amazing place.” However, neither artist confirmed that a new album is currently being recorded. The duo recently performed an a cappella version of “Ready or Not” for fans in London. Third member Pras Michel is unable to take part as he is serving a US prison sentence following convictions related to lobbying and fraud. Hill and Wyclef also urged younger musicians to prioritise patience, craft and meaningful art over instant online success.
