Anambra Government Refutes Claims of Collapse at New Government House
Tony Okafor, Awka The Anambra State Government says reports of a structure collapse at the new Government House after the April 9 storm are false. In a statement, Christian Aburime, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, called the rumours “mischievous” and aimed at misleading the public. He clarified that only minor damage occurred to barricade barriers outside the Government House perimeter. The Anambra Capital Territory Development Authority has already begun repairs. Additional engineering measures will be introduced to prevent similar damage from strong winds. The government urged residents to ignore the fake news and continue supporting its development agenda.
