A serving NYSC member, Joseph, was found dead in his room two days after he died in his sleep in Mkar, Gboko LGA, Benue State. The news emerged in a Facebook post on April 14 from a local APC chieftain. Joseph was posted to the rehabilitation hospital in Mkar. He passed away quietly in his sleep and remained undiscovered until neighbors raised the alarm. According to the APC leader, Joseph was a regular customer at his restaurant. The last photo of him was taken at the restaurant entrance. His sudden death has prompted calls for better welfare and monitoring of corps members.

It's alarming that it took two days to notice Joseph's passing in a camp environment that claims to prioritize safety.
