Former Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez has reportedly joined Zinedine Zidane's France coaching staff as the national team's goalkeeping coach. The appointment reunites two key figures from France's golden generation. Barthez and Zidane won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 together, and Barthez made 87 appearances for Les Bleus before retiring from international football in 2006. Barthez also spent four seasons at Manchester United, where he made 139 appearances and won two Premier League titles. Zidane's technical team also includes longtime assistant David Bettoni as France prepare for upcoming Nations League fixtures and Euro 2028 qualifying.
