Russia Vows to Strike Israeli Drone Components Supplier Amid Ukraine Conflict

Russia Vows to Strike Israeli Drone Components Supplier Amid Ukraine Conflict

Russia has warned it will target facilities across Europe that supply drones to Ukraine, including a Haifa-based firm. Moscow’s deputy Security Council chairman called these sites “legitimate targets” after European governments boosted unmanned aerial vehicle production with Kyiv. Russia’s Defense Ministry released a list of alleged drone manufacturing and equipment facilities in cities such as London, Munich, Prague and Riga. It also cited component production in Madrid, Venice and other Italian locations. The list names Elsight, an Israel-based company in Haifa, as a key supplier of connectivity modules used for remote control of unmanned systems. There was no immediate response from the firm or Israeli officials.

Could these supplier threats force Europe to hunt new drone sources or simply slow down their delivery?

This warning seems more like a warning shot than a practical strategy, since hitting drone parts factories in Europe carries huge risks.

I no see how targeting those suppliers will really slow down UAV production; it might even push Europe to ramp up support.

European governments should consider dispersing drone component production to multiple locations to reduce vulnerability to future strikes.
