Historic Triple Exit: USA, Mexico and Canada Knocked Out in World Cup Round of 16

All three hosts of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup have bowed out at the Round of 16 stage. Canada were the first to go, falling 3-0 to Morocco after goals from Azzedine Ounahi and Soufiane Rahimi. Their campaign was also hampered by injury issues to star winger Alphonso Davies. Mexico suffered a narrow 3-2 loss to England at the Estadio Azteca, despite a spirited display in front of over 80,000 fans. Jude Bellingham struck twice and Harry Kane converted a penalty to seal the win. The United States became the final co-host eliminated following a 4-1 defeat to Belgium in Seattle. The expanded 48-team tournament, jointly held across the US, Mexico and Canada, now moves into the quarter-finals ahead of the July 19 final.
