Freddie Simpson: From Kentucky Athlete to 90s Screen Comedy Star

Freddie Simpson was born Fredda Marie Simpson in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1963. She excelled in softball and volleyball before graduating from the University of Kentucky. She began her career as a model and made her film debut in Thunderboat Row (1989). Simpson gained wider recognition for her role as Ellen Sue Gotlander in the sports comedy A League of Their Own (1992) and reprised the part in a 1993 TV miniseries. Her other credits include Skinner (1991), Tracey Takes On… (1996) and the short film Blue (2002). After the birth of her daughter, she stepped away from acting. Today, Simpson’s net worth is estimated at around $500,000.
